Daily Routines

We open the kennels between 6.30am and 8.00am

Dogs are walked and come out to play initially between 6.45am and 8.15am

Dogs are interacted with continually and constantly throughout the day whether it be feeding, brushing, bathing, walking, playing, cuddling, health checks, plus visual checks as the staff walk around doing tasks

Your dog is fed its breakfast between 7.00am and 9.30am

Your dog has treat time at approximately 11.00am

Your dog has its lunch, if appropriate, at 12.30pm

After the staff lunch dogs are then walked and come out to play between

2.00pm and 6.30pm

Your dog has its dinner between 4.00pm and 7.00pm

Your dog has its supper or a small treat between 8.00pm and 10.00pm

  1. Kennels are opened and dogs checked.  Dogs are walked and or come out onto the various secure areas to play.  This continues until all the boarding dogs have been done.  After an appropriate waiting time all dogs are fed their breakfast

  2. Medication is administered as appropriate

  3. Whilst dogs are out of their kennel being walked and playing, the beds and bedding is cleaned, checked and replaced as necessary and fresh water is given.  Toys are checked for safety and removed, changed and cleaned as needed

  4. Day boarding dogs start arriving from 8am onwards if it is a weekday.  They go straight out to play and meet up with their buddies as appropriate.  Their breakfasts/lunches are prepared along with any medication so it is ready for their return or later on in the day

  5. All waste is removed and dealt with from kennels, paddock, secure playing areas and field area

  6. Dogs going home that morning are brushed.  Their medication and any belongings are taken over to reception ready for departure

  7. Kennels are scrubbed, cleaned and disinfected floor to ceiling daily, bowls are washed, reception is cleaned, kennel kitchen is cleaned and the never ending washing and drying pile continues!  Grass is cut and weeding etc is done as are other ongoing painting and repairs as and when we have a moment …..

  8. Dogs are again walked and other daily tasks are undertaken (this is continuous through the day for all dogs on site)

  9. Whilst the dogs are on afternoon walks or playing out their bedding is again checked and changed as necessary and their beds and toys are checked for safety. The kennels is cleaned again then the dogs go into their attached heated sleeping quarters to settle down ready for their dinner to be served

  10. Each kennel has its own attached covered run and these are scrubbed and disinfected and all drainage cleared of debris

  11. Dogs are fed and checked and medication administered

  12. At supper time the final daily check is undertaken. Medication and treats are given as necessary.  Dogs that want to go out are let onto the paddock individually and we then lock up everywhere for the night.
