Socialisation is important for your puppy as it helps them to become a happy, friendly and confident adult. Your puppy will have their ‘socialisation period’ in their first few months of life and it’s really important that during this time they have lots of positive new experiences to help them understand what to expect, and how to react in a variety of situations later on in life.

Your puppy’s socialisation period is key to their development, and there’s lots of things you can do to help them learn about the world around them in a positive way – including sights, sounds, smells, places, new people and new dogs.

We have created a sensory area specifically for puppies.  This includes water, sand, sniffing zones, digging areas, hanging mobiles which make different noises and are made of differing materials.  Music is played and noise is made so that everything becomes nothing to adversely react to.  Puppies can play together and are encouraged to explore, play gently and also rough and tumble in a fully supervised environment.

Puppy socialisation is also included in the day boarding sessions 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday £19 per day.

It is a great way to get them used to coming to Longmeadow Pet Hotel Ltd for boarding or day boarding as they will form a lovely association with the place that will serve them well for their future visits.

Puppies can of course enter straight into day boarding should you prefer.
